Enjoy these excellent photos from Ljubljana.
Ljubljana is an exceedingly pleasant city that sits on the banks of the Ljubljanica river. This 300,000 person capital of Slovenia was once part of Yugoslavia. The city is highly walkable and well-preserved but lacking any must-see landmarks.
This is the view of Ljubljana from the castle that overlooks the capital with the Alps in the background.
Looking up at the Ljubljana Castle which provides an excellent observation point of the capital.
Ljubljana is a great place to stroll to enjoy the cafes and discover the history.
One of the most famous landmarks is the Zmajski Most also known as the Dragon Bridge. It was completed in 1901 and is guarded by four dragon statues. Dragons can be found in the city’s coat-of-arms.
Also, a great place to listen to some local musicians.
And you can visit the farmer’s market in the center of town.
Triple Bridge is another well-known landmark. It is a unique design comprised of three bridges as the name implies. It is adjacent to Prešeren square which is a popular meeting place with a grand statue of Slovenian poet France Prešeren.
And make sure you check out nearby Venice and see the beauty of St. Mark’s Baslica.
