Petronas Towers-Must-see. Kuala Lumpur does not match up well with a Cairo or Paris, which ooze monuments and history on nearly every corner. But Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, does have the Petronas Towers, a must-see landmark. Petronas Towers from 1998-2004 did claim the mantle as the tallest building at 451 meters in the world, but today it settles for the tallest twin towers. Regardless of losing its crown, the Petronas Towers is an aesthetic masterpiece, two gleaming silver towers reaching to the sky based on an Islamic geometric design. This 88 story tower is constructed with mostly reinforced concrete with a steel and glass façade.
A well-known aspect of the twin towers is the sky bridge which connects the two buildings together on both the 41st and 42nd floor. At its base, a high end shopping mall can be found named Suria KLCC. Also, the KLCC 17 acres park is adjacent to the building, including a fountain with accompanying light show (It is no Dubai Fountain, but pleasant enough.

For approximately $20 a person you can reserve your ticket online to visit the towers. This includes a visit to the skybridge in addition to the observation deck on the 86th floor.

Part of any visit to Petronas Towers should also include the Kuala Lumpur Tower. This tower is about a 15 minute walk from the towers and it is the 7th tallest free standing tower in the world. On top is an open air sky deck which provides a great unobstructed view of the Petronas Tower.

And to really complete your experience stop in at the Skybar at the Traders Hotel. The Skybar offers another view of the Petronas Towers and is great for sunset in this semi-open, trendy bar including a pool. It is on the 33rd floor. Make sure you make a reservation. Also, please remember to order a Mexico Fragancia, very tasty!

Beautiful, KL a place we’d like to visit one day and it’s cheaper going up the Petronas towers than the Tokyo Skytree which we visited earlier this week!

They say that it took 6 years of 24-hour construction to complete the twin towers that was a lot of effort given but it’s all worth it. Nice shots of photos, thanks for sharing.
