Chernobyl is considered the world’s worst nuclear disaster.  Over 4,000 people are projected to perish from radiation.  There is a 1,000 square mile forbidden zone.

In April of 1986 in the former Soviet Union, a test at Chernobyl, a nuclear power plant, went horrendously wrong.  A fire and explosion sent a radioactive plume across the USSR and Europe. Over 150,000 people were eventually evacuated forever from their homes. The world was on edge.

Today, you can visit the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.  It is a place that is frozen in time since 1986.  Like an explorer in an apocalyptic world you can explore this eerie world. Discover and investigate deserted schools, nurseries, hospitals, and even an amusement park.  Peer at the Chernobyl Reactor Four, where this calamity began.

In my book, Photos From Chernobyl, I will share with you over 100 photos from my two days of exploration in the Exclusion Zone.
